Franklin Terrazzo was triumphant with its Hockey Hall of Fame project, winning the Unique Special Category as well as the Project of The Year.

We are in the midst of a very warm and sunny summer. Hope everyone enjoys it, as we all know that we will miss this weather so much come October. Like every summer, many events take place, organized either by the association or by its members.

In June we have hosted the Annual Convention in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. This was a very well attended event for all three days, with the Tech Expo on the Thursday, bocce tournament, supplier and contractor meetings, as well as a spectacular dinner at the Peller Estates Winery on Friday; on Saturday we had the AGM meeting and Gala Awards Dinner. As usual the Gala was a black-tie affair where the wining projects for this year were announced.

Franklin Terrazzo was the big winner of the night with their Hockey Hall of Fame project winning the Unique Special Category as well as the Project of The Year. For a complete list of winning projects we invite you to visit our new revamped website at July and August are golf tournament months, with the one in Toronto held at the Caledon Woods Golf Club and the one in Vancouver held at the Redwoods Golf and Country Club.

The Toronto social committee is hard at work organizing our big social event on November 3rd. This year’s event will take place at the Royal Ontario Museum and promises to be the best event so far. The Vancouver social committee also is working on a social night event which will take place on October 21 at The Loft in Vancouver. With a great location this event will also be the place to be on that Friday night.

The TTMAC is also happy to announce that this year we have released quite a few manual upgrades with the 2016-2017 Tile Installation Manual 093000 English edition out in March, and the French edition of the same manual that was released in the first week of August. We are also announcing the new edition of the 2015-2017 Terrazzo Installation Manual which was also released at the beginning of August.

All of these manuals can be purchased on hardcopy or digital format on our website.

As usual we are trying to develop more training courses, online and hands-on, and we are hoping to have great news in the near future. The training committee is hard at work determining what would be of most interest for our members and the industry and then will develop proposals for the courses.

TTMAC Staff and Board of Directors are constantly looking at ways to improve the benefits of being a member of our association and we are hoping to increase these greatly. As usual, we are looking forward to hearing from you! Enjoy the final days of summer everyone!
